SteamOS va fi cel mai probabil primul sistem care aduce noi funcții celor dornici de a putea folosi produsele din casă pentru amuzament sau joacă.

Folosind In-Home Streaming putem foarte ușor să redăm conținut direct de pe PC sau Mac pe un computer folosind SteamOS, prin rețeaua wifi de acasă, iar Family Options ne dă posibilitatea să salvăm setările pentru fiecare user. Funcția Family Sharing ne oferă posibilitatea de a folosi jocuri turn-by-turn, în timp ce toate setările și câștigurile sunt salvate în Cloud.
